They are of exceptional quality with meticulously designed and intricately detailed clothes.  All the old, deteriorating rubber bands, that were originally used to attach all appendages, have been removed. Our dolls have been restrung with strong cloth covered elastic cord, correcting all loose, arms, head, and legs floppy body parts, which now allows you to position your doll in any way you choose. Mali is a landlocked country located in the interior of Western Africa. They derive their wealth from gold and salt. Mali is a beautiful doll that is very rare and difficult to find.  She has very long brown hair, intricately braided into rows across her head and decorated with shiny gold buttons sewn into the braids.  The back of her hair has been pulled up and fastened with amber beads containing ten long braids that fall below her waist.  Gold twisted trim with specs of green and red form a head band, boasting three beaded drops with the gold buttons attached, that rest on her far head. Her beautiful, hand-painted face boasts wide, round, chocolate brown eyes, that open and close upon positioning and a rosebud little mouth. Mali is wearing a lovely, one piece, floor-length print dress lined with amber satin.  One shoulder is bare and the other has a strap that forms a train on one side fastened with a gold clip.  Two gold round bracelets are worn on her wrists. Around the neck are different shapes of wood and glass beads that match the colors in her dress.  Bare feet are tucked into adorable little sandals that are decorated on the side with a gold stud.  She stands tall on her very own stand that co-ordinates with her attire.  It is finished in brown cloth, trim and gold beading. (The arms of the stand are brown and barely visable). I have carefully inspected the Madame Alexander International doll Mali and find it to be in excellent NEW condition without loose parts, seams, missing pieces, damage to the doll itself, odors or discolorations.  The head, legs, and arms are tight and do not flop as the have been restrung with new cord.  Her clothes are bright and clean without any yellowing from age.  The box is in excellent condition and has new pink tissue.
